Pause 4 - Introducing Finding Freedom

If your feeling unsure where to start with your spaniel’s separation anxiety, you’re in the right place. Choosing the “best” training option can feel confusing.

Today on Pause 4, I’m sharing why my foundational, Finding Freedom programme, could be the solution you are looking for.

Who is it for?

Designed exclusively for spaniels who are struggling with separation anxiety, it’s ideal if your spaniel:

  • Has never had their separation anxiety behaviours assessed by a professional, or

  • Has had an assessment with a professional but:

    • It was over 6 months ago

    • It was under 6 months ago but you’re unsure how long your spaniel feels safe alone.

What is it?

Finding Freedom offers a full month of all-inclusive training and support, helping you create real progress without guesswork.

Inside the programme, we focus on 4 key outcomes:

 1. You’ll finally know your spaniel’s safe time

You stop guessing and start training at the exact level your dog copes with.

One of the first things we work on, during our first live online session, is identifying your dog’s safe time.

This is how long your spaniel really feels safe being left alone for.

I can already hear you thinking, “That will be zero!”

But don’t worry, we can always find a micro milestone which is where we begin.

Micro milestones

Micro milestones identify a safe starting point for your spaniel.

Even if that starting point isn’t “time on the clock”.

2. You’ll understand what triggers your dog’s anxiety

You’ll reduce worry before it starts, making training smoother and easier, for all of you.

Separation anxiety doesn’t begin when you walk out the door.

Spaniels are world-class detectives and often notice the signs long before you leave — shoes, keys, coats, bags, routines… they notice it all.

During Finding Freedom You’ll learn what your spaniel is picking up on, what is causing worry before you even leave the house, and most importantly, what to do about it.

Because training starts long before goodbye.

3. You’ll learn to read your dog’s body language with confidence

You’ll know when your dog is coping and when they need support — no more guessing.

Dogs communicate through their bodies.

Subtle changes in posture, movement, breathing, pacing, or scanning the environment, among many other individual signs, all tell us how they’re feeling.

You’ll learn what is normal for your dog and how to spot the early signs of unease.

This allows you to stop a training session before your dog feels unsafe, which is crucial for building the foundations ot trust and nurturing confidence for your spaniel.

4. You’ll build the skills to continue confidently on your own

You aren’t meant to stay in training forever — you’ll know exactly what to do next.

Finding Freedom is designed to help you become confident enough to continue on your own.

You’ll learn how to use the SA Pro Training App to support your training, remove the guesswork, and make decisions based on real progress and clear, professional data.

By the end of the month, you’ll have evidence of the progress you’re making and the skills to keep moving forward independently.

And if you’d like additional support, follow-on programmes, continued app access or 1:1 sessions, they are always available to you as a finding freedom graduate!
